The trippy effect was enhanced by the sand and dust-filled fifty-mile-an-hour breeze that was blowing through the canyon created by the casinos; the particle-filled air diffused the glaring lights and gave an other-worldly quality to their glowing colored light. Sometimes a tumbleweed would be swept through the scene, whirling and spinning as it was hurled along by the gritty wind.
