Oil painting Megapain by Phil Cummings

She looked up, as though she was seeing me for the first time. She got the key and opened the manacles. I curled into a ball, sobbing. I could hardly move. I didn’t know what to do. My brain was paralyzed; my body was tingling with pain. I got up and walked into the bathroom and stood by the toilet. I was pissing blood, probably from the shock to my lower abdomen. I was trembling and I couldn’t stop.
